Oarfish (Regalecus glesne)
Since 2026 I have collaborated with Fernanda Raygoza Díaz on the study of the giant oarfish (Regalecus glesne), the longest bony fish in the world. It is a deep-water species that is rarely seen, so every recorded specimen is a unique opportunity to learn about its biology.
My role includes developing the dissection and tissue-sampling protocol for genetic and molecular analyses, and organizing the specimen metadata.
